On Sunday, September 19, 2010, Dillon Floral hosted our 36th Annual Open House, Design Show & Trade Fair.

The all-day event was be held at 933 Columbia Blvd. in Bloomsburg, PA. Professional Florists were be invited to attend for a day of inspiration and education. Vendor partners representing domestic and South American flower farms, international flower importers and domestic manufacturers will participate in a Trade Fair.

René van Rems is a world-renowned ambassador of the floral industry. Originally from Amsterdam, The Netherlands, René has called San Diego, California, home for over 20 years. He is a member of the American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD), The National Speakers Association, and the Professional Floral Commentators International (PFCI).

The design show was comprised of three segements. René presented an entertaining program combining business tips and beautiful design. René shared his perspective on color and product merchandising as well, creating a stage display of beautiful colors and textures including fresh flowers, foliage plants and hardgoods.
Trade Fair – Creativity from Around the World: Many of our vendor partners from around the world were on hand for the event. They represent the partnerships we have with superior quality suppliers of fresh flowers and hardgoods. Members of our greenhouse staff for Blooms from Bloomsburg and Plant Kingdom foliage and flowering potted plants also participated in the trade fair. Guests completed a trade fair passport to enter in a drawing to win an iPod Nano. The winning shop was Country Cupboard in Lewisburg, PA.
Design Contest – The Creative Business of Boston Ferns: Twenty Two shops arrived on Sunday with their 6" Boston Fern creatively embellished. Our annual Plant Kingdom design contest has become a much anticipated and enjoyed tradition. Entries were displayed in Plant Kingdom and were voted on using a “People’s Choice” process. The winning design was produced by Bird Florist in Riverside, PA. and won a backyard campfire bonanza prize package. All of the entries showcased the incredible creative talent of Dillon Floral Customers. Thank you to everyone who participated!
Creative Standing Orders: Guests were able to spend time with vendors and account managers to choose from a wide variety of standing order options for fresh flowers, plants and hardgoods. There were shopping opportunities in all three products lines with a 10% off show discount on all purchases for the day. One lucky guest even won his full day of purchases for free.
